When I started with Dora I was in a tough spot, pretty run down physically and carrying the after-effects of some traumatic events in my life. As a busy builder/project manager, aged 52 and working very hard, the challenge for Dora was to build strength in my immune system and energy levels, deal with various sources of stress, and address some skin complaints.

For many years, I had a Candida overgrowth with severe symptoms. The symptoms were the classic ones - itching, rashes, allergies, digestive problems, insomnia, fatigue, depression, plus many, many more. In desperation, I tried everything I could think of to get rid of it. I read every book, article, and website I could find about Candida. I spent lots of money and time trying to cure myself. I was so miserable.
Since I have started being treated by Dora my health problems have dramatically improved. Dora has put me on a diet plan along with supplements specifically tailored for me and my health issues have gradually reduced. Detoxifying for weight loss and health

We initially saw Dora for advice on how to embark on a detox programme to get in shape for our holiday and give our bodies a rest from toxins such as alcohol, sugar, caffeine, bread. We also saw it as a challenge to see if we could live without these things.
The instructions given by Dora were very clear and concise and encouraging!
Grant carried out the detox alongside an exercise regime at the gym, so was feeling more tired anyway. Despite this, he experienced longer periods of concentration, slept well and did not feel so full and bloated when going to bed. I found that I had none of the bloating I usually experience after eating, definitely had more energy, even on the juice day I was running up the stairs due to feeling much 'lighter' in myself, but surprisingly did not feel hungry. We both agree that our digestive systems were working much more efficiently throughout the detox (i.e. much more regular)!
We both found the first week a bit tough, but tried new recipes or adapted others so it was a great way of trying new things. It has made us both realise that we can feel so much better by eating more of the right things and made us more aware of what was missing from our usual diet.
We have more knowledge of the benefits of different foods and how they help us detox. We will continue to eat more fruit and less wheat and also to drink more water as we now know the advantages.

Combating recurrent colds, flu, low energy, dry skin and Candida

My name is Kate Richards and I am a conference producer. I originally approached Dora when looking for a nutritionist in London to help with my diet. I was newly working in London and suffering from cold and flu symptoms nearly every other month. I also suffered from really bad dry skin on my face and constipation. My immune system was really down and my energy levels were dwindling, something I blamed on London living with all the smog and late evenings!
Having my own personal nutritionist was extremely motivational. Dora did a wonderful job with my assessment and after clearly explaining the diet she planned for me and how to combat Candida I really felt motivated and determined to detox. The detox cut out fruit & sugar(for Candida purposes), alcohol, caffeine, wheat, and dairy, which all seemed very daunting at first but Dora provided me with meal ideas and recipes all of which I still stick to today. I also took supplements for my plan, which included fish oil and vitamins, all a good substitute for the vitamins I was lacking and my dry skin has really disappeared.
To summarise, a month went past and I decided to continue with a metabolic type plan as I felt great. I can honestly say that since I did this detox with the planning and guidance from Dora, I have felt so much more energetic. I now feel awake in the evenings and have started going to the gym, Pilates and volleyball – it has definitely led to a better, healthier lifestyle.
My main problem was illness and in the year since I did this detox I have been ill once, which is pretty impressive as I travel a lot with work and whilst running events you can get pretty run down.
Tackling dry skin and eczema from within

I went to Dora for dietary advice after suffering with dry skin and eczema since my teens which could only be controlled with harsh creams.
Dora put together a structured plan for me to follow, advising of foods to increase in my daily intake, and foods that I needed to avoid. In addition to this she outlined a series of supplements to control the inflammation. After 6 weeks the majority of the eczema had disappeared and I felt less sluggish and bloated during the day. To this day the eczema hasn’t returned - the slightest hint of dry skin and I know to eat more olives and avocados!"

Eradicating Premenstrual tension and promoting weight loss

My name is Asma Shah and at the time of my consultation with Dora I was working in TV and was pretty stressed out.
My way of dealing with the demands of work and more personal areas of my life was to over-do it in terms of eating, drinking and partying. I had put on weight, wasn't sleeping well and my PMT was worse than ever.
What was useful in the consultation is that, unlike with a GP, Dora tried to understand my whole life-style in determining the best course of action for me. It was recommended that I eliminate certain foods from my diet and take specific supplements which would also help with my PMT. One thing in particular that I've stuck with is never drinking white wine as I was told it reacted badly with my hormones and suddenly my delicate emotional responses on nights out made sense! The main reason I went to Dora was about my PMT and following our consultation she sent me a detailed plan of what to do and sticking to it really did work. Instead of suffering from symptoms of PMT for well over a week in advance of starting, these were taken down to about a day or so. I have finally managed to achieve hormone balance.
